Frequently asked Questions
Why choose Janet Ramos Photography?
Specializing in Portrait Photography, I strive to create stunning visual narratives that encapsulates the joy of accomplishing a major milestone such as graduating from a University. I use my expertise to ensure every shot resonates with emotion, is curated to perfection and delivered on time before commencement day.
What to expect?
We will meet in front of the IST building at your booking time and begin promptly photographing the student in their cap and gown. Once we have captured the student in their gown, we will proceed to capture their headshot. Within the week, an email will be sent to view the proof gallery which will allow you to select the images for purchase. The editing process begins and when completed the final images will become available to download.
How much shooting time works for me?
If the attire can be worn for both the cap n gown and the head shot and only need 3 images then 15 minutes should be enough time.
If you would like to select 5 images or more then the 30 minute time slot is recommended.
If a an outfit change is required (from a dress for cap n gown photos to business attire) then you will need extra time. 30 minutes is recommended.
Why choose an Express Session (also called a mini session)?
Express sessions are perfect for the graduate who only need a few images of their special milestone. Most college graduates went through the whole High School photo session experience and only want a couple of professional photos done quickly and with minimal fuss. What makes this offer unique compared to the photography companies most Colleges and Universities contract with is that there is no extra charge for editing, color correcting and for blemish removal. Graduates are given individual attention to detail to make sure they are posed to flatter their figure. Lastly, a proper head shot image is most important for graduates to obtain in order to update their LinkedIn account, portfolio or website and we will make sure they have one.
What to wear?
Business attire is highly recommended for this type of session because it works well with both the cap and gown and headshot photo.
Collared shirts, neck tie, slacks and dress shoes for the men. A suite jacket is ideal if available. Please make sure that grooming is taken care of before the shoot since there will not be any retakes. Things to consider for the men are haircuts, trimmed facial hair and clean fingernails. Clothes should be pressed and wrinkle free as it is very visible in the photos and cannot be photoshopped out.
For the ladies, dresses no longer than the length of the gown is suggested. In the sample photos shown, knee length dresses were chosen. Women’s pant suits and heals are also used in these types of sessions especially for the head shot. Make up is recommended as well as having nails either clear of nail polish or professionally done.
Being prepared ahead of time ensures that you will look your absolute best, make you feel confident and be proud of all the hard work it took to get to the next step of your future.
